tldr: the "hangout" was basically a blind date UGHHHHH or well the guy treated it like a date !!!! which made me so uncomfortableee

but cliffnotes version of what happened so i dont blab too much here:

and all the awkward convo stuff aside he didnt have his licence so at the LAST MINUTE he asked if i could give him a ride home & yknow i felt bad so i said SURE why not because he probably doesnt live far away !!!!

guys he lived 30 minutes away IDID NOT KNOW THAT and i didnt get home until an hour AFTER the dinner stuff was overr

& i KNOWW he didnt see this as a "ooh casual friendly hangout" because in the awkward silence of the car he's all "how old are you ?? your 18 ?? you know im 21 right ?? the age gap is okay with you ??" IF ITS "JUST FRIENDS" IT SHOULD BE FINE WHYWOULD THAT BE ASKED ??? guys im going to crash out please save me plea—💥💥💥 /j

so i spent the past night in a incredibly awkward dinner and then driving in pitch black darkness to SUCHH a shady area for an hour and now this guy thinks we have something WHEN IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A FRIENDS THING ???? WHAAA HUHH WHAT ????

Whenever there was a storm, Iruka remembers his parents hiding him away. The barrier seals that cover his windows dull the thunder into a low rumble, like how he remembers the sea, and all he can see through the glass is an inky darkness. Those seals are the first ones they teach him, and they tell him to always have them on hand.

When he’s a little older, he asks why he can’t watch the storm like his friends. They tell him that around when he was born, there was a terrible storm that lasted for weeks. In desperation, his grandfather prayed to the storm gods, offering up his newly born grandson as a sacrifice if they would make them stop. And the storms stopped. Unwilling to let such a fate befall their child, his parents took him and fled to Konoha.

Iruka isn’t sure he believes in storm gods, but he loves his parents. Then the kyuubi comes, and suddenly gods don’t seem so fake anymore. So he covers his room at the orphanage and then his apartment with wards, and bites back the defensiveness when Mizuki makes fun of him. It isn’t the thunder and lightning he’s afraid of, it’s what they could bring.

When storms are coming, he can feel his skin crawl, like someone is watching him. Iruka strengthens the wards on his apartment and doesn’t take missions, instead hiding away in the Hokage Tower, where nobody can touch him. Some storms make it feel like someone if pounding at his barriers. On those nights he tucks himself into the corner of his apartment, as far from his windows as he can, and huddles under a blanket, wishing he weren’t so alone.

But Iruka cannot outrun and avoid storms forever. There’s a stillness in the air when he’s assigned a mission with Hatake Kakashi that he cannot refuse. Overhead the clouds are full and heavy with rain, and there’s a tinge of ozone that sets Iruka’s nerves on edge. Thunder rumbles in the distant sky when they find the enemy’s trail, and the clouds burst upon first clash.

It takes every bit of Iruka’s skill to keep from being overwhelmed. The enemy is too strong, and his heart too soft. All the warnings his parents repeated tug at him, and he’s too distracted.

Lightning strikes the tree that Iruka’s opponent is crouched in, close enough he can feel the heat. The air is saturated with enough chakra that Iruka feels drunk off it, even as it makes his hair stand on end. Blinking to clear the searing light from his eyes, Iruka chokes on a gasp.

Before him stands Kakashi, his arm buried in the chest of the now very crispy enemy ninja, sparks of electricity arcing almost lazily across his body. With a flick of his wrist Kakashi’s arm is free, and he glares down at the corpse. Something feels wrong, and while Iruka’s common sense screams at him to move, he feels rooted to the spot. Two eyes, one storm cloud grey and the other heat lightning red, lock onto his.

Kakashi’s hand, the one that had just killed a man, cups Iruka’s cheek. Once, while experimenting with seals, Iruka had shocked himself with a raiton based seal. It had hurt, and left his arm numb for two days. The merest brush of Kakashi’s fingers brings the same feelings for half a second before subsiding into a strange tingling sensation.

“I can finally touch you, my Iruka, my bride,” Kakashi’s voice was a low growl, an almost predatory sound that made Iruka jerk back. As soon as he broke contact with Kakashi, it seemed like all of Iruka’s strength left him. Like a puppet with cut strings he collapsed, and was only saved by Kakashi gathering him into his arms.

“Rest, Iruka. I’ll take care of everything else,” Kakashi cooed, and Iruka found himself helpless to resist. His last thought before he sank into unconsciousness was if his parents would be disappointed he didn’t fight harder.

Binge read all of vanitas no carte in like a day and a half. Gay ppl are literally insane. I always thought the ever-famous "I'll never set you free!" line was like... something to do with a binding contract or something. I didn't understand the hype about it, I was always like "Okay it's kind of cute that he's never gonna let this contract go, but it's not inherently romantic. What are you guys even talking abt right now."

But then you read it and there is SO MUCH romantic subtext, and even moments that are explicitly romantic between Vanitas and Noe.

And when Noe says "I'll never set you free!" it wasn't about a contract, it was him promising to never leave Vanitas. Vanitas saw total isolation and abandonment as "freedom," and Noe said, "As long as I'm here, you won't ever have that brand of freedom. I will never let you feel alone again. I promise to always be by your side, I promise to never abandon you. I promise to stay."

Sometimes it's frustrating having worked in video game retail and knowing anything about game/console prices and deals watching people just. Say things online

"Look at this nintendo add for the SNES you could get the console and super mario world for like $100! Companies never do that anymore they're so greedy hahaha"

Yes, companies still bundle consoles with games. And yes, often this means the games come at a reduced price. (Mario Kart World for Switch 2 is $50 in the bundle versus the $80 for physical. When Gamestop was bundling games and controllers with new ps5s to keep away scalpers in like 2022, the games included often would be discounted between $10 and $20 for that bundle.)

Don't get me wrong. Of course less than $200 for a console and a first party game would be swell these days BUT. When you decided to get up in arms over prices these days, did you adjust for inflation? (Because like. It's one thing if the new console you're doing comparisons with the old one is much more expensive even when factoring in inflation. But also like some of those old consoles adjusted for inflation are worth about the same if not more than a switch 2, then it's like...okay? At that point the prices aren't the problem. The root issue is the companies not paying you in accordance with rising inflation.)

Believe it or not YES. Nintendo still does console deals where you can buy their most recent home console with a first party game added in for free! (Listen to me. Listen. In 2021 and 2022 for Christmas it was possible to walk into a video game store and buy a $300 switch bundle that included Mario Kart 8 deluxe and like 3 months free Nintendo Online. In like 2022/2023 for Christmas they also did $350 switch oled bundles that included Mario Kart 8 deluxe and 3 months nintendo online for free. The price of a console for a $60 video game and 3 months of the online service. This isn't some mythic business practice that stopped happening in like 2005 or something. I promise.)

Yes obviously the companies are greedy. They use deals to pull you in to get you to spend more than you expected. They also often have more sales than you're even aware of because they benefit more from people paying full price. They underpay people and they use whatever excuses needed oftentimes to raise prices to keep that profit rising. But it does no one any real good other than allow people to get pissed off to lie or assume things which aren't true. There are so many reasons to dislike companies (esp. Nintendo), you don't need to rely on acting like things used to be so much better in cases that they're not, or treating things that are industry wide standards/issues as something one company is the sole perpetrator of.

Moral of the story, maybe perhaps like do a bit a research instead of assuming whatever thing that pisses you off greatly is 100% true, and direct your ire in the right direction. Ground yourself emotionally and mentally, know what's going on. Be pissed at corporations. You're allowed to be fuckin pissed at corporations. Just please know what tf you're talking about and what exactly the root issue is

i've heard criticisms about sunbeam x nightheart and i expected to not like them together or not care

but i'm gonna be so real with y'all, they're SO CUTE TOGETHER, i love them, they're so sweet

like yeah, the pacing was a little weird for a second of when they were actually falling in love, but they were SO CUTE TOGETHER even before they were in love and you could actually see them getting closer and warming up to each other

both of them thinking completely separately how they wished the other was there because they felt so comfortable talking to each other when they were both having trouble with their parents/friends/clanmates

i didn't know that nightheart just jumped into joining shadowclan like that, i thought he was going to have a more thorough conversation with sunbeam about it and they have a more classic confession scene but no that little idiot just jumped right in

AND SUNBEAM LATER THINKS ABOUT HOW HIM JUMPING RIGHT INTO THINGS IS SOMETHING SHE FINDS ATTRACTIVE ABOUT HIM IS SO CUTE

like they sprinkle in these little thoughts for both of them thinking how pretty or handsome or attractive or cool they think the other is and appreciating the other's skills and they're just so cuuuuuuuuuute

and the fact that they actually have conversations and communicate about problems and even if they disagree on something or something upsets them they compromise or work it out before it causes a bigger problem, like how nightheart actually TALKED to sunbeam about what berryheart told him instead of just assuming the worst things and ruminating on them and getting irrationally angry or upset about it and ending up causing a big fight or something
